DTC Shipment Value Up 7% in November

DtC shipment value increased 7% versus a year ago to more than $592 million in November, according to WineBusiness Analytics/Sovos ShipCompliant. Volume for the month fell 4% to 848,397 cases. The shifts in value and volume versus a year ago reflected seasonal shipment patterns while ranking as the second-strongest November of the past decade. This puts the critical OND season on track for a strong finish. The average bottle price of shipments climbed 11% to $58.16, a new monthly record for November. 

Cabernet Sauvignon and red blends are among the top varietals in the DtC channel, with an aggregate value of $1.9 billion on a volume of 2.1 million cases. Cabernet is tops, with shipment value of $1.2 billion while red blends total $702 million. Napa County leads the charge with Cab, accounting for 76% of total shipment value. It holds a smaller share of red blend shipment value, at 55%, followed by the Central Coast (16%), Sonoma County (14%) and Washington (7%).
