M.S. Walker's Doug Shaw to Chair WSWA, Calls for Strengthening Three-Tier System

Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) elected Doug Shaw, president, M.S. Walker, Inc. Chairman of the Board.

Addressing the association at its annual membership meeting in Washington, D.C., Shaw urged distributors to continue strengthening the three-tier system, the most efficient and safest alcohol distribution system in the world.

“Every WSWA member is a champion for the value of the wholesaler, industry partners, and key stakeholders in the system that works so well to serve consumers during an exciting time of innovation,” said Shaw. “WSWA members nationwide are energized and committed to working with the entire WSWA team who leverage tremendous passion, energy, and expertise, every day.”

On the future of the association and its strategic priorities, Shaw detailed ongoing efforts to continue building upon important diversity and women’s leadership initiatives, elevating Access LIVE as the premier industry event, developing WSWA’s SipSource into a best-in-class data product, advocating for the comprehensive federal regulation of cannabis, and countering state-by-state efforts to bypass the robustly regulated marketplace.

“Chairman Shaw brings a tremendous amount of experience, knowledge and genuine concern for the success of not just wine and spirits wholesalers, but industry partners who have been pivotal in making the U.S. alcohol marketplace the global standard-bearer,” said WSWA President and CEO Francis Creighton.
