TTB Extends Comment Period on Trade Practice Rules to June 7

Alcohol & Tobacco Tax & Trade Bureau extended to June 7 the opportunity for industry members and members of the general public to comment on possible updates to TTB's trade practices regulations.

So far, TTB has received 22 comments.  One anonymous comment directly addressed concerns raised in TTB's response to President Biden's executive order on expanded antitrust enforcement.  It charged the largest global wine and spirits companies with fueling play-to-pay activities.  "In return for their investment in retaurants and retail they demand exclusivity in a category; i.e.,Big Global Supplier "invests in activation" and then requires that only That supplier's sparkling wines and Champagne are poured."
